With the numerous amount of digital photos being taken, on as many devices from digital cameras through to mobile phones, how many of the photos are actually worthy of printing? and actually being printed? and out of all those photos a large portion of those photos come out too dark or have poles sticking out of heads etc … you get the picture right!
Boots Creative offers photo retouching services to improve your images so you will want to print them and not sit on your computer filling up valuable space and never be seen. We can improve the following attributes of your photos:
- exposure correction – lighten or darken images that have not been correctly captured due to lack off or too much light
- colour correction – make skin tones more natural and remove colour casts {colour tinges to your photos so it might look greenish etc.}
- colour enhancement - make your photos come alive
- spot/blemish removal - get rid of those nasty pimples as you won’t have those forever, so you don’t want to be reminded of them in your precious photos
- wrinkle/skin softening – we can either soften or remove wrinkles depending on age as our policy is to keep you looking natural and not plastic
- eye/teeth whitening - give you back a beautiful smile and rid those blood-shot tired eyes
- colour conversions – black & white, sepia or chocolate toned which is a more of a modern day sepia
- creative effects – aged and vintage effects, texturising, borders and creative framing
- individual photos or bulk quantities - we can enhance individual images for those special shots you want to feature as wall prints or canvases or bulk quantities of images

Photo Retouching Services
BASIC RETOUCHING { $15 per image } includes:
- all images are colour corrected as necessary for natural skin tones
- all images receive exposure adjustments to lighten/darken as necessary
- images are given the ‘punch’ treatment so the colours are vibrant and full of life
- subtle sharpening
- Excludes – any spot retouching – ie. removal of spots/blemishes on the skin, improve bags or dark circles under eyes, or any other specific or targeted corrections to the photographs
ADVANCED RETOUCHING { $25 per image } includes:
- Basic Retouching as above
- removal of spots/blemishes on the skin
- brighten/whiten eyes and teeth
- smooth skin and wrinkles, and remove dark circles under eyes. Our policy on removing wrinkles is age appropriate, meaning on older people we soften them rather than removing them to give a more realistic and natural look (definitely not plastic and unrealistic for their age), but on younger people we will soften them more or even remove all together where appropriate
- removal of distracting elements such as highlight/white spots or distracting objects in the background
CREATIVE EFFECTS { $45 per image } includes:
- Basic Retouching as above
- Advanced Retouching as above
- colour treatments such as black & white and sepia conversions. Please note: our sepia conversions are more of a modern chocolate toning, if you specifically want the traditional yellow sepia, this must be specifically requested. You will be provided with the edited colour version and the colour treated version
- aged and vintage effects
- texturising of images
- darkening and lightening in spot areas of image to help point the focus to the main subject (ie. vignetting)
- creative borders and frames
- we will supply you with up to 3 variations of the image each featuring different creative effects
- These type of effects work especially well when the photos are used in albums, coffee table books and on canvases.

Colour Management
We operate in a colour managed environment, meaning we calibrate our monitors regularly to ensure we get true and natural colour tones to give you the best results. Our monitors are then profiled with our printers to ensure what we see on our screen is what comes out in the prints. Please note: as all monitors are different, images on your screen may not appear the same as on our monitors.
Supplying Image Files
We accept images in the following formats – RAW Files {.cr2, .nef, etc}, .jpg, .tiff and .psd.
Please note: that depending upon the file quality and size of the images provided to us, will determine what and how much we can do with the files, and what the end result will be.

Basic Editing – $15 per image
Advanced Editing – $25 per image

FOR 20+ IMAGES
$50 per hour
Professional Photographers
This service is for the general public requiring their happy-snaps to be enhanced, however, if you are a professional photographer please visit our Professional Photographers page for more information on the services we provide {verification that you are a trade professional will be required to gain access to this information}.
Process
We require a completed order form with instructions and a 50% deposit with all orders before we begin editing. After the editing is complete, we will upload low resolution ‘proof’ files of the edited images to a password protected online gallery. At the same time, we will send you an invoice for the balance owing and upon receipt of the balance, a disk with high resolution images as well as a set of low resolution images will be sent to the delivery address stated on the order form.
Turnaround
Orders are process in the order they are received. Turnaround is usually 5-7 business days. If you have an urgent order, we will queue jump the order for a fee of $100 per order with turnaround in approximately 3 days.
Payment
A 50% deposit is required with all orders before we begin editing. We accept Credit Card (Visa or MasterCard only) via our secure online payment gateway http://www.thecoffeetablebook.com.au/payments.php, posting a cheque with your order or direct deposit (please contact us for bank details).
Delivery
All images are supplied back to you as high resolution (300dpi) JPG files.
We also provide a complimentary set of low resolution (72dpi, 600px * 400px) images for you to use on the web (ie. Facebook, MySpace, etc.)
All orders are returned to you by Australia Post.
